May was a not a great month for me weight wise.
At one point I had lost 3 pounds, but some late-month, late-night splurges that spilled into early June reversed that trend, and I’m back at a weight loss of 16 pounds since Jan. 1. For about a day and half I was down 19 pounds.
My success was derailed by a visit to Atlanta that included a couple of restaurant meals, along with fried fish, fried chicken and barbecue. You do the calorie math.
While I continue on my journey to develop better eating habits and to lose 40 pounds by the year’s end, I am deep into my health study group at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center. The good thing about the study is that checks on blood pressure and glucose level are included. My glucose was fine and my blood pressure — 108 over 72 — made me feel great.
The loss of 16 pounds and improved eating habits are probably contributing to those good numbers.
