Pin ‘MyPlate’ on Pinterest
MyPlate, the colorful icon that replaced the food pyramid, has joined the Pinterest generation.
Pinterest (www.pinterest.com) is a website that allows users to create their own “boards,” filled with everything from fashion and hobbies to diy projects. And there’s food. Lots of food. You will spend (some say kill) many hours paging through it.
Now you can do a site search for “MyPlate” and soon you’ll be “pinning” hundreds of recipes, from grilled chili burgers and lemon-garlic roast chicken to Asian lettuce wraps and blueberry pudding. And they’ll fit the MyPlate goal of:
- Focus on fruits
- Vary your veggies
- Make at least half your grains whole
- Go lean with protein
- Eat calcium-rich foods
